Hair Loss Awareness Month at Peter Mark
August is ‘Hair Loss Awareness Month’ and this annual campaign provides a timely opportunity to raise the importance of discussing hair loss and the impact it can have on our clients’ lives. That’s why, at Peter Mark we aim to open the conversation around hair loss and provide support, information and appropriate treatment for our clients through understanding and education.
In a survey conducted by Peter Mark, carried out online among 1,149 women aged 18-65 in 2022, found.
- 35% of women have issues with thinning hair
- Breakage and thinning are the top two concerns for women
- 76% of women say that they have noticed hair loss during periods of stress
Commenting on the findings, Ciarán Purcell, our Brand Experience Director at Peter Mark said: “It’s clear from the research that a significant number of women are unhappy with the health of their hair at present. There’s a myriad of factors that can impact your hair, from being post-partum to stress or certain scalp conditions. The key to having healthy hair is to have a healthy scalp. The nioscope tool used by our Nioxin Specialists allows them to assess the condition of the scalp and from that provide bespoke recommendations to address the client’s specific hair and scalp issues. If someone is experiencing issues with their hair at present, we would recommend that they book in for a complimentary consultation with one of our trained Nioxin Specialists.”
Peter Mark offers our stylists the opportunity to undergo an intensive 8-week programme to become qualified Nioxin Specialists.
During the transformative eight-week experience, our teams delve into Nioxin’s core principles and theories, led by expert guest presenters who educate on the groundbreaking theories and premium ingredients behind Nioxin’s exceptional results. A key highlight in the programme is our collaboration with two esteemed educators from the Institute of Trichology, the largest provider of Trichology training in Europe. Clinical trichology is the diagnosis and treatment of diseases and disorders of the human hair and scalp.
By educating our stylists in this way, we are enriching our understanding of scalp and hair loss issues and providing unmatched service and support. The successful completion of the Nioxin 8-Week Intensive Programme solidifies our position as industry leaders in scalp and hair care.
Ciarán continued to say: “in doing this, we hope to turn this taboo subject around by creating an open and understanding environment, where anyone can feel comfortable and trust in the expertise they’ll receive at any Peter Mark salon.”
